Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Gregory Pospisil, LMFT
Gregory Pospisil is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who has been in clinical practice since 2008. He earned a BA in Communications and a BFA in Theatre from the University of Nebraska, followed by a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles.
Gregory began his career at the Sexual Recovery Institute (SRI) in Los Angeles under the direction of Dr. Rob Weiss. There, he worked extensively with individuals struggling with sex and love addiction, as well as their partners. Many of his clients also faced co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. His specialized training in sex addiction came through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), where he became a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). During this training, he studied with renowned experts including Dr. Patrick Carnes, Dr. Stefanie Carnes, Dr. Ken Adams, Dr. Rob Weiss, and Dr. Alexandra Katehakis.
As a senior clinician at SRI, Gregory was personally selected by Elements Behavioral Health to train with Dr. Brené Brown and her team. He completed The Daring Way© certification program in 2013 and went on to serve as an in-house consultant, helping other clinicians implement Dr. Brown’s curriculum on vulnerability, shame, empathy, compassion, and connection.
In 2017, Gregory joined the Center for Healthy Sex in Los Angeles, further deepening his work with individuals facing relational and intimacy issues under the guidance of Dr. Alexandra Katehakis. In 2020, he relocated full-time to Palm Springs and became a primary therapist at Blue Tiger Recovery. There, he worked in both the Sex Addiction and Sex Offender programs and expanded his focus to include men struggling with chemsex (sex and methamphetamine addiction).
Gregory completed EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training in both 2017 and 2023, and continues to integrate EMDR into his work with trauma, addiction, and emotional regulation.
In 2023, Gregory joined the team at Tranquil Palms in Palm Desert. As a primary therapist, he expanded his clinical focus beyond sex addiction to include individuals facing substance use and broader mental health challenges. His current work draws from the research of both Dr. Brené Brown and Dr. Kristin Neff, incorporating themes of wholehearted living, self-compassion, and emotional resilience into the therapeutic process.
In addition to his work at Tranquil Palms, Gregory maintains a private practice and is proud to now be a member of the SolutionPoint team.
