Elizabeth Cornejo’s interest in the field of substance use disorder initiated in her hometown of Oxnard, California where she began her personal journey of long term recovery. Elizabeth began her extensive clinical career with the Ventura County’s DUI program then shifted her focus while working with the unhoused population throughout Ventura County.
Elizabeth moved to the Coachella Valley in 2004 to continue her clinical work at The Betty Ford Center (BFC). Initially hired as a technician, then promoted to case management, then to an outpatient counselor and finally retiring in the position of Patient Placement Counselor. Elizabeth attributes her wealth of knowledge to the numerous hats she wore throughout her 18 year career at BFC. She continues to offer positive, empathetic and compassionate clinical care as a Counselor and Case Manager with SolutionPoint.
Elizabeth’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Grand Canyon University and a C.A.T.C. III through CAADE.
Coinciding with her clinical career, Elizabeth served 27 years in the United States Air Force, Air National Guard retiring as an E-7 Master Sergeant.
Elizabeth lives with her wife and partner of 25 years. They enjoy spending time with family, especially their newest addition, granddaughter Keeley.
