Can I Bring My Pet to Rehab With Me?

What Is a Pet-Friendly Rehab?

If a rehab is pet-friendly, they likely recognize how important it can be to have quality care for your pet while you’re in treatment. Taking time out of your life to begin the recovery is a big decision, and the challenges of finding care for a beloved pet—especially a dog—can sometimes hinder a person’s ability to pursue treatment. Not everyone can afford a pet sitter, and not everyone has family members they can leave their pet with while they seek help. This can lead to a challenging situation and difficult decisions. At SolutionPoint, we provide a safe space for you and your pet to be together during this crucial time of recovery.

SolutionPoint is Dog-Friendly

To be clear, we love all pets, but to define ourselves as Pet-Friendly may be a misnomer. You won’t find horses, rabbits, miniature pigs, dolphins, or cockatiels at SolutionPoint. What you will find are dogs. SolutionPoint is a Dog-Friendly treatment center. To mitigate any dog hair, odor, or compromised air quality that may occur, we have an air purifier in all rooms.

Please note: Detox clients may be asked to wait a week before bringing their dog into treatment. If you cannot wait, we may accommodate you by having a staff member help care for your pup, but this will be at our discretion.

Not An Easy Decision

Making the decision to come to treatment is not easy. Sometimes that decision is made more challenging by the question “What am I going to do with my dog?” No longer is that an obstacle. We realize that being able to bring your trusted companion to treatment relieves a lot of stress and lessens anxiety.

Benefits of Attending a Pet-Friendly Rehab

We’re a staff of dog owners. We’ve experienced the unconditional love of our dogs and are better people as a result. The healing power of dogs is undeniable and the peace they bring us is immeasurable. We believe that having your dog in treatment provides several therapeutic benefits, such as:

  • Reducing anxiety and feelings of discomfort
  • Increasing motivation and commitment
  • Cultivating empathy
  • Building trust and safety
  • Enhancing a sense of self-worth
